The 2009 Annual Assembly
The 2009 Annual
Assembly took place on Saturday 23rd May proceeded over by our
president Pat Reed. For those who didn’t make it on the day,the full results and
winning entries can be seen by follow the link below Visitors to the exhibition were asked to vote for their
favourite picture and the winner was Harris Hawk by David Lockwood with Judi Pennock’s Mother and Cub Polar Bear coming in a close
second, all 192 of the pictures got at least one vote. It just goes to show
the quality of this year exhibition and that everyone has different tastes! More Good Results For
YPU at PAGB assessments Three photographs from the
YPU gained Credits and one Distinction at the resent PAGB assessments CREDITS Kate Brown, Phil Hack, Holmfirth CC Len Morris, Ilkley CC, DISTINCTIONS Richard Bown, The November assessments are now full,
but some spaces may be available next year, please contact Pat Reed for
details The YPU will be running a PAGB Award Workshop on
24th January 2010, More

YPU success in PAGB
inter-Fed PI The YPU has come 5th out of the 15 Federations
in this years PAGB Inter-Fed Projected Images
Competition. Congratulations to the follow authors who had images accepted

June Competition Winner
The winning image
from the June competition was “Gannets in conflict” by Len Morris of Ilkley
CC, Congratulation Len and Thanks to everyone who submitted images and to
those who voted. If you would like to see
more of Len’s pictures, we hope to have his page up soon. The July competition
is now open with images entered by YPU members. Please vote for your
favourite. If you would like to
enter the August competition, it is open to all club members with a prize of
having your own gallery on the YPU website.

Cup Competition Selby had another
good result in the second PAGB Great British Cup competition. Selby came =12th
in the small club competition. Harrogate PS was the highest placed YPU club
in the open club category coming = 28th . For more information

accepted into the PAGB print Exhibition Three Mono prints were accepted, helping
the YPU into 6th place, they were, ·

Formed in 1899 the Yorkshire Photographic Union is the
oldest regional federation of photographic clubs and societies
in the
The Yorkshire Photographic Union are
members of the The
Photographic Alliance of Great Britain.
The
Clubs vary from the major clubs of the towns and cities,
localised clubs at the workplace or specialist clubs such as the Yorkshire
Monochrome Group or the Yorkshire Medium Format Group.
Through the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain the benefits of
a wide variety of lectures are available.
In addition the YPU organise day and weekend seminars on a wide
variety of photographic topics.
