. I joined Selby Camera Club well over ten years ago as a beginner and owe any improvement in my picture taking through listening to judges’ comments and gaining advice from other club members.

I have been interested in taking wildlife, people and sport pictures in recent years and would like to do more landscapes but being intrinsically lazy I can’t motivate myself to get up so early and am too impatient to wait for the right light!  Most of my photos are taken on  holidays, very much on the 'see something' and click, as my husband is not into photography and urges me to hurry up if I am longer than 20 seconds. I rarely use a tripod as I’d never have enough time to set it up! My passion at the moment is taking pictures of Squash international tournaments but it is such a fast game that getting the focus right is very hit and miss and the amount of ‘noise’ is quite significant – but I keep trying.
