Selby Camera Club
I have been a member of Selby Camera
Club for just over a year now, that’s when I first picked up a camera and
started to enjoy photography. At the
time I had a Samsung compact with every intention of buying a DSLR but couldn’t
afford one. The chess piece photograph
was my first club entry it was taken at home with my compact. It was this photograph which gave me the
bug. I now have a Nikon D70 which I
managed to purchase from a member at the camera club.
My inspiration comes from websites and
monthly photography magazines. I like to
think outside the box and try different things. The York Minster photograph was
achieved using car light trails at night, there is no
real decent vantage point for taking full on pictures of the Minster without
obstructions in the way so I mirrored half of the image. Turned it into a
triptych and reduced the saturation on the outer two areas to draw you towards
the Minster in the center of the photograph.
I
have no specific area of interest as yet, an idea comes to me and I run with it
until I get the results im looking for. I hope you enjoy my photos.
