Clive Haynes – Will illustrate some of the techniques he uses to make his distinctive images. Topics will include... TopazPlug-ins, The Art History Brush, Changing the weather, Tri Colour images and Kaleidoscope Pictures
Martin Addison – Martin will be demonstrating how to create exciting audio visual presentations using ProShow Gold/Producer, with the emphasis on how to make visually satisfying sequences in the flowing ‘Harmony’ style rather than the documentary approach. He will also giving tips on the use of ‘Lightroom’.
Foto/Nexus – In this wide-ranging ‘mixed media’ presentation featuring projected images and AVs,
Clive and Martin show a selection of their imaginative and creative work. They’ll share insights about some of the methods used to make their distinctive pictures.

Annual Exhibition 2014
For 2014 there are some new rule changes and to assist you they are now available here to download
Yorkshire Life Magazine.
At long last the YPU had an article in the September issue of the Yorkshire Life magazine, together with member’s photographs. The magazine is still printing members images and if you would like to have one considered for publication email your image to Ray Brammall.
August Competition Winner
The winning image from the August competition was ‘ Beguine Convent Bruges' by Christine Chandler of Settle Camera Club. Well done to Christine. Thanks to the many who voted.
The September competition is now open with 5 images, entered by YPU members. Please vote for your favorite. If you would like to enter the September competition, it is now open to all club members.
The winning image is eligible for the image of the year, the image gaining the author an YPU medal at the annual assembly. For more information and this month's competition, follow this link:

Come and find out what standards are expected for the CPAGB, DPAGB and MPAGB from Rod Wheelans MPAGB MFIAP FRPS who organises the adjudications. He will explain the process and show examples of successful images. Bring your work with you and have it assessed by Rod and Libby Smith MPAGB EFIAP. Images may be either prints or PDI’s and it would be useful to bring the required number for whichever distinction you are entering plus a couple of extras. Feedback will be given on each image to the author.
THE COST IS £15 AND INCLUDES A BUFFET LUNCH AND REFRESHMENTS.
Preference will be given to club members who have already applied for a distinction.
There are only 30 places available so make sure you book early.
Closing date for applications is 5th October

Formed in 1899 the Yorkshire Photographic Union is the
oldest regional federation of photographic clubs and societies
The Yorkshire Photographic Union are members of the The Photographic Alliance of Great Britain.
Clubs vary from the major clubs of the towns and cities, localised clubs at the workplace or specialist clubs such as the Yorkshire Monochrome Group.
Through the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain the benefits of a wide variety of lectures are available.
In addition the YPU organise day and weekend seminars on a wide variety of photographic topics.
