April 2012, Pontefract This event is being hosted by the YPU
at The Grange, Carleton Community Centre, Despite previous requests for helpers
on both days, we are still short of hands. Please consider giving either one
or two days of your time to help your federation. There will be work from 112
entrants, including 15 for the Master award – a feast of good images. If you
can help at all, we cannot promise you will see all the images, but you will
have a good idea of the “behind the scenes” activities and you may also have
some fun. If you are considering putting some
work forward for these awards in the future it will be enlightening to be
there. Anyone not wishing to help, but
wanting to be a spectator will need to buy a ticket (£7) and take a packed
lunch. The Distinction awards are being shown on Saturday and the Credit and
Master levels on the Sunday. Please contact Pat Reed (01482813854

January competition Winner
The winning image
from the January competition was "The Welder” taken by Mike
Barnard of F.ocus Camera Club. Well done to Mike. My thanks to everyone who submitted images and to those 14
people who voted.(not the same 14 people who voted in the previous month).
Can we have more images, why not show case your work so come on get involved.
It is disappointing so few people voted, please vote, it only takes a moment
and shows me members are visiting the YPU website. The February competition is now open with images entered
by YPU members. Please vote for your favourite. If you would like to enter the March competition, it is open
to all club members with a prize of having your own gallery on the YPU
website. For more information and this month's competition, follow this link: IMAGE OF THE YEAR
2011 The competition for the image of the year is now open.
Please email me your vote, click on the link below and I will be accepting
votes until the end of February. The winner will be announced at the AGM in March To view the images click here :- Image of the Year Judge the Judge! In order to maintain the quality of judging throughout
the YPU, your Executive needs feedback. Have you had a new judge that did
well? New judges on the supplementary list need two good reports to move on. Was
your last Judge too severe? or just plain bad? We will never know if you don't tell us! And now you can download forms for judge and lecture
feedback to your computer from here. YPU WEBSITE I am looking for your
help, are there changes improvements, which you think should be done to the
website, please e/mail me and let me know what you think. Dave Another good showing for Selby in the 2010/2011 PAGB
